Review on XTAR VC4 Universal Battery Charger LCD Display 4 Bay Charger for 18650, 20700, 21700, AA, AAA, C, D Batteries by Michelle Collins

I have been involved with rechargeable batteries since the 1960's . I've had chargers from many brands, from Radioshack to MAHA (by the age of about 20, my maha nimh slow charger was a workhorse, but it was $30). I have advanced LI-Po powered helicopter chargers so I have some experience. This VC4 is easy to use and charges batteries slowly, which is best for the battery. I use it a few times a week to charge a couple of Li-Ion 18650 batteries. It will even charge my collection of D-size 10,000mah Nimchos that are running out of time on most chargers. If you take rechargeable batteries and use them a lot for advanced flashlights that are used every day or for portable music systems that are used 16 hours a week in the summer, spend some money to get good rechargeable batteries and fast charging wears out faster than slow so i chose vc4 instead of vc4s. So why three stars in the first rating? Because slot 4 was defective. The same battery inserted in slot 1 will be recognized and charged, but in slot 4 it will not be recognized and charged. Revain no longer serves this main member, so a replacement will be here tomorrow. The second was perfect. While every product occasionally has defects, I do not give it five stars when I receive a defective product, even if a replacement would have deserved it.
