While Sony's newer Z batteries are better than the older W versions, when shooting video with the a7SIII you sometimes have to set up the kit in a way that makes it difficult to get to the battery compartment change them. This dummy battery cable allows me to place the dummy in the body and then disconnect it from one of the many batteries I already have that power my Atomos devices as well as many of my small LED lights. This is a key component of any sensible a7SIII setup, but remember, when shooting with a Sony, never use the 12v side of the carriage - only the 7.4v side of the plate. I put tape on the 12V side as I don't want to have any problems in the future!
