Bought this device for work. It works very well but has some limitations. The first is a limited field of view - about a third of the area visible through the eyepiece. The second is dynamic range. I did a lot of soldering and checked circuit boards under a lighted stereo microscope. The camera's limited range and the microscope's localized light source tend to create specular highlights on the rounded solder joints that interest me most. Since the camera tends to work in automatic exposure mode, important details can become blurred. .But this is not actually a defect of the camera, it is simply a fact of this product, this technology and this device. I was able to play around with the light source and camera controls to bring out some of the detail I needed and maybe capture others with a little more effort. However, the camera allows me to take and import images through the microscope. them straight to your computer to paste into various documents and records. All in all, I couldn't have expected better value for money, which is why this device gets a five star rating.
