I was looking for a cast iron grill pan and was delighted when I found this on Amazon - especially since it had a lid. However, I am very disappointed with this pan and regret the purchase. I tried seasoning it before using it (just like I've seasoned my other cast iron skillets several times) - the cast iron in this skillet is very rough and it ended up catching on bits of the paper towel I used to spread the oil . I was hoping it might burn in the oven, but no - I've now taped small oiled pieces of paper towel to this grill pan, which will need to be scrubbed thoroughly with soap and water before attempting to season again. I cannot recommend this pan.
