Bought to attach to a fence gate. They go well with standard fence gate latches so there is no problem here. They also remain locked, which I think makes sense, so that's a good thing. However, I found them very difficult to use. The key doesn't slide in and out as smoothly as you'd like, and the locking bar can also be a little tricky to remove/replace. I'm not sure if they don't handle the weather well (we live in a rainier climate) but they aren't as slick as I think they could be. So are they generally successful at blocking things? Yes absolutely. Is the user experience pleasant? No not at all. I think there are probably better solutions out there, but they will get the job done.
