I bought it with quite some skepticism because I saw how cheap it is and because of previous experience with suction cups. :) Well, I confess, this little invention amazed me. I originally planned to tape it to a tree in my car, but the leg was too big and I couldn't find the perfect spot for it. My center console is a bit confusing thanks to AUDI. Then I tried the unthinkable: I placed it on an uneven, textured surface. Imagine my surprise when this thing actually stayed in place. lizard leg! :) He's been there for a month now, both hot and cold days. It holds my Sony Xperia phone every day with no issues and the rattling is minimal. Seems durable. So far, so good. You might get a second one as a backup. Can't beat this price. Try it. UPDATE: August 24, 2018 I've had this thing in my car for over 8 months, no less in the FL heat. It has come loose maybe twice since then, and I use it every day - I jam my phone when I go to work, I open my phone when I arrive, I jam my phone again when I drive home. you have the idea When it came loose I cleaned the disc with water and reattached it WET as it should. It works like a charm, a solid investment.
