These 3.3L and 3.8L Chrysler Stant Thermostats always require metal removal to fit into the thermostat housing. The intent is to keep the air release valve up, but they don't fit properly. This has been a problem for Stant in this app for years. After modification, it works as expected. I used a bench grinder and cut the grooves in the right places. My purchase was a Revain Warehouse Open Pack Sale so I saved a lot of money and didn't mind the imperfect design. If you don't have the skills to modify metal I would strongly recommend an OEM thermostat.
