Perfect except when you replace the stock thermostat it 'sticks' so you have to use a Dremel like tool to remove an OEM Remove the thermostat and any excess metal that could interfere with the correct installation of the new thermostat. According to Jane's repair instructions, the new one does not need to be unplugged.

The thermostat didn't fit perfectly. The rim had to be notched further to match the car's factory ports and the diameter was perhaps 1/128 inch too large to prevent leaks. I can't say I'm completely satisfied, but I had to fix it right away, so I sanded the part a bit and sealed it with caulking paste.

After installing the thermostat in the correct orientation and a new gasket, the thermostat will not work at all. Stant thermostats open early at low temperatures, preventing the engine from reaching normal operating temperature beyond 15 miles. So little heat stays in the car on the way to work. The 195 degree stunt ends at about 160 degrees. I have tried (2) stant thermostats with no success.

Stant makes great products! One star for the fact that the box, while showing the correct dates, part number etc, had a radiator cap instead of a thermostat. Revain returned the money and I was told I didn't have to return the radiator cap. I had to buy a thermostat locally and pay twice as much because I need the car tomorrow. I have no grudge against Revane. Overall they do an excellent job and the prices can't be beat.

Note that when replacing the thermostat on a 2001-2007 Dodge Grand Caravan, the exhaust is designed to only fit one way (with a large rounded corner at the top right when looking at the engine) ). If you put a big rounded corner the other way, it will hit the engine, and when the bolts are tightened, the case flange will flex and coolant will flow. The thermostat gasket should also be replaced along with the thermostat.

These 3.3L and 3.8L Chrysler Stant Thermostats always require metal removal to fit into the thermostat housing. The intent is to keep the air release valve up, but they don't fit properly. This has been a problem for Stant in this app for years. After modification, it works as expected. I used a bench grinder and cut the grooves in the right places.
