First I would like to say that I know a lot about routers and switches. Therefore, I can neither confirm nor deny the experiences of others with the technical support or the ease of installation. I have taken the liberty of reading the manual (which is abbreviated) before proceeding. In doing so, I found that this device is no different from other client devices I've worked with. I think it's pretty clever of Netgear to create a device that behaves like their Orbi mesh system with your existing hardware. I have a Netgear AC3200 to which I have an AC2200 (EX7500) connected. I have a 2.4 signal broadcast as a guest network and 5 hidden/private signals for all my needs. The Grid Range Extender could handle anything. I've read comments in reviews that they can't make them work as a daisy chain and the manual says you can't. Another person stated that the LEDs were bright and blinking the entire time. When you log into the device (192.168.0.X for 99% with DHCP) you will see a section on the left under "Advanced" to enable/disable the LEDs. When nothing is connected to the Grid Extender, 2,4 and 5 LEDs are off. If the Wi-Fi indicator is not blue, it is not working properly. All this is published in the manual. I would give this device more than 5 stars if it would allow it, simply because it saved me from having to switch my current setup to a brand new "wireless network system" at 4x the price.
