This part is in no way stronger than a stock GM part as noted by some other reviewers. As bad as the GM part is (and it's a real POS), this part is even worse. The plastic is lighter, the two screws that attach the part to the door have plastic threads instead of metal inserts like the GM part, and the screw holes in the handle don't line up with the holes in the door, they were almost half the diameters . I had to take a dremel and open up the holes in the door before I could even start attaching the bolts. After doing all that, the doorknob worked, but I don't expect it to last long. I'm very disappointed with this part, but I'm stuck with a non-working door and couldn't wait for a replacement. I do not recommend purchasing this item.
