I bought this butter knife because I often forgot to take the butter out of the fridge for dinner after eating bread or fried potatoes. I figured this would save me from microwaving it for 15 seconds. I've tried it and the integer side doesn't do anything at all. The ribbed side does a believable job, but you can't get too much oil at once. I was impressed with the knife's weight and durability. I was afraid it would be very thin, but it isn't. I am not satisfied with this knife as it did not solve the problem of oil getting on my bread. I won't buy any other.
