I am a senior portrait photographer and have been using my Nikon 50mm 1.4 for many years. I've looked at this Sigma 85 Art since it came out but could never justify a purchase as my 50mm lens was on my camera almost 90% of the time and my clients loved their pictures. With Covid-19 I had to rethink how I shoot and I didn't want to be right in front of my clients so I finally bit the bullet and bought this lens and oh my god it blows my mind! I also have a Sigma 35mm Art lens so I knew it would be good, but I had no idea how much better this lens would be than my previous Art. The bokeh is creamy and the thing is very crisp. Right out of the box I noticed it was a little blurry in the foreground, but with a little correction with my Sigma dock it brought about 90% of my shots from that session into focus. Every image looked great straight out of the camera and it greatly reduced my turnaround time! I usually fix all that crap, but not this time. It also gave me the extra distance I was looking for to be safe for myself and my clients. One note - this lens is a BEAST! It's heavier than any other lens I own, including my 90mm macro lens. But I'll take the extra weight if it means I get pics like this every time!
