Review on ๐Ÿงณ Premium Trunk Bike Rack by Trey Harvey

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Will NOT hold two bikes, even close by

This is a appallingly bad porter bikes. I have no idea why others rated it well. Let me be very clear: you will NEVER be able to mount two bikes on this thing. When the bike is positioned inside (closer to the car), the body of the bike rests on the bike rack below (rather than hanging freely), forcing the bike to rotate outward and preventing a second bike from being added . Even if it weren't, the two mounting positions are so close together that almost two bikes would interfere with each other, making dual bike use impossible. I suspect that even the 3 bike version is not suitable for 2 bikes. Also: the brackets that the bike rests on rotate freely so they won't point up when you're trying to load the bike unless you're positioning it very, very carefully. them, and then don't breathe on them the wrong way. Also: the bottom contact point lands right in the center of the license plate (at least on my Nissan Altima) making it illegible. This works fine but seems stupid and probably illegal. By the way: I have used all kinds of bicycle carriers (with tension belts on the trunk, on the roof, on the spare wheel and on the coupling - both hanging and from below) for bicycles. all types (road, commuter and mountain - with full suspension etc.) have been successful for decades. So I know what I'm doing. This stand is just hopelessly damaged. If you only have one bike this works most of the time but is still annoying for the reasons above.

Pros
