After purchasing and rating another product from this seller (power bank), they sent an email and offered to provide an additional product for free in exchange for an honest review. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised! Construction: super easy. I just plugged it into a USB 2.0 port and hung it on a monitor. The clamp/clamp design seemed odd at first but works very well, better than others I've had. It has a textured finish on the inside and two sections on the back that lend themselves very well to weight and balance to keep it in place. The camera itself is also on a swivel mount, allowing you to fine-tune the view. And no software to install, it just worked. Video: Went to Google Hangout to check but didn't tell my colleague why. ;) Immediate response to a huge improvement in clarity! They also noticed that the picture got brighter. Microphone: great results too! Colleagues said the voice quality was just as good or even better than before. (I had trouble getting started, but it was a Windows issue, not a device issue - for some reason Windows took over the system-level muting. It took me a bit of tinkering, but it was an easy fix once I found Start > Settings > Sound >Enter then "Manage Audio Devices" - turn the device off and then on again (e.g. turning your smart TV on/off when it starts making noise.) Overall: Thumbs up! Mine not quite so old webcam worked fine so I didn't think a new one would replace it, but it's such an improvement that I plan to keep using it! I'll give the old one to my husband or kids! :)
