Destroyed my 18 volt dewalt saw

I have high hopes for this one Product set after I received it. I connect the battery to the adapter and test the saw before I get to work. Gut took it to work for the first time today and as soon as I reconnected the battery I smelled an electrical burn and my saw stopped working, now I don't have a saw. An update went today to charge my battery, it won't charge so I didn't see the battery and adapter, stay away from that adapter.
