paint them inside and out, screw them on when you load them.

Some people said they rust, bare metal inside, cheap paint so I did, cleaned inside and out with thinner, let dry well, took two cans of Rustoleumn hammered metal, hammered black, guts well shod , let it dip and let it dry, then two coats, it turned out strong, I screwed it through and put a tent on it with no problems, I screwed mine with screws with thick washers. anyway i'm happy now.
