even alongside all the other modular buildings from the wonderful Lego range. This appears to be an important addition.

Every city needs a town hall, doesn't it? And this Town Hall really stands out among all the other modular buildings in the wonderful Lego range. This seems like an essential addition to any Lego city. This is one of the few truly modular options where you can only view it with Basement and Roof or Basement, 1st Floor and Roof or Basement, 2nd Floor and Roof or all three floors with 1st over 2nd or 2nd over 1. Mix and match. 5 workable configurations - change your display every day! And when you play with its modularity, the magic happens. As built, the structure is imposing but a little bland. But if you remove the 1st floor and only get the basement, 2nd floor and roof, voila! You get a great school building. It has a much better sense of proportion than the full set and is also dominated by the fine detailing of the entry frontage, while the full set tends to be somewhat visually obscured when looking up. And what would you do with that middle part? Well, it's the perfect shape for a beautiful one-story house. Just change the front door, remove the balcony and add a roof. The elevator area becomes a bathroom (yes, the suite has a working elevator, no stairs!). So we have a nice living room, bedroom and toilet, and in the atrium there is enough space for the kitchen and dining room, as well as for the extension of the bathroom. And that's what Lego Friends sets are for - I have lots of them to redesign my modules. The set itself is the penultimate in the original series ending with the Palace Theater. Thereafter, modular designs focused more on the internals and play functions, to the point where somewhat childishly useless toy functions dominate the design of the Brick Bank and Detective's Office building to the detriment of the building itself. Earlier modular designs were geared more towards adult Lego fans and the creation of imposing buildings (and especially facades) for a Lego city. The town hall holds up well and is easy to transport and clean. This is probably my second favorite of the 11 modules posted so far.
