Not easy. no in Engine Tools

This was easily the worst tool I've bought online to date. The regulator is dead, there is NO teflon tape or sealant on the gauge or inlet. The hose at the end of the spark plug did not have a long threaded adapter, making all Jeeps, Toyotas, Hondas and many others completely unsuitable for testing. I went cheap and I got what I paid for. It was terrible.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Poorly designed

Poor quality - tools and equipment

I've read reviews that seem positive enough but with some problems that previous buyers have had. Turns out I had the same problems. The finish is pretty bad. The hose to the cylinder was loose and I had to poke it out of the spark plug hole. Since Teflon tape was not used in the manufacture of this manometer, a leak also occurred in another device. I would not buy and recommend this product.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Some difficulties

Leaking quick connector / poor instructions

The quick connector on the end of the hose was leaking. I tried a new o-ring, teflon tape and silicone gasket. Nothing worked. I didn't have time to go back and order a replacement, so I cut off the hose and installed a new barb and clamp quick disconnect. After that it worked great. The instructions aren't clear or precise, but if you're familiar with this type of tool, you can get it working. Once eliminated and calibrated, it works fine.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Expensive

Incorrect labeling

The two adapters in the kit are labeled incorrectly on the photos! They are 12 and 10mm. The hose nipple is 14mm but aluminum, it doesn't fit properly in my 14mm 4 cylinder spark plug. I use a different adapter from my compression tester to use a brass fitting instead of an aluminum fitting simply because I am concerned about the incorrect hose threads in the cylinder head. you have been warned Based on other reviews, I am very disappointed that I did not properly test this product. I hope you…

Broke on first day of use

I used this to do a leak on my 94 Bronco 5.8L. First, he had NO loss of compression on six of the eight cylinders. NOBODY. On my 195,000 mile engine it should have registered at least 10-15%. Only two cylinders showed a loss of 10% or more. And then when I went back and repeated the test on a warm engine, the adapter that fits into the spark plug holes came loose. Of course you can reassemble it, but now the adapter's clutch just spins round and round. As a result, you can no longer screw it…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • No automatic

simple easy to use adapters included

Others wrote about the quality of the end product. Other reviews say the tube that connects to the spark plug hole has a swivel - seems to be a defect as I haven't had that problem. Adapters appear to be screwed in correctly. The gauge itself works fine, but won't let you go to 100psi or more than 35psi, which is enough to do the test. If you are a professional mechanic, buy a better, more accurate and more durable tester. For DIYers, it should be enough for several cars to use it on in your…

FAIL - Unusable diagnostic tool.

I read the reviews and actually bought this kit for parts from an old leak detector that needed repairs. I ended up just using part of the hose as a backup, a 0-100 psi gauge and two rubber cups that match the gauges. I did not use the regulator and bought a higher quality device. The instructions said a maximum inlet pressure of 100psi, but I later saw that the regulator spec (marked on the regulator) had an inlet pressure of 140psi and that would probably be fine. The main problem with the…

Poor design and unreliable caliber

As you can see in the photo I had to put a lot of JB Weld on the end that screws into the spark plug hole. The reason for this is that this ending rotates. I put it in the spark plug hole and tightened it slightly and when I tried to take it off the hose twisted and the threaded part didn't come out. And you can't get pliers/tools on the threaded part to pull it out. Luckily I was able to put enough JB Weld on it and let it dry for it to come out. When I got out I completely covered it with JB…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some minor issues
