I use them in my travel bag and when camping to put things in, I don't want to get wet. They held up well for a long time under fairly heavy use, but I had a hole in one of them near the seam at the top. Holes but in general for a bag where you want to keep the rain out or if your bag is going to dip into a creek quickly they are great. If you want to be 100% waterproof, your life depends on it. You might consider a hard case and a waterproof inner bag. These guys are only able to last so long because of the material. If you are very concerned, consider double packaging for extra security. Again, they work just fine for most rain or splash protection.
