I thought it would be better if they were sold individually but I realized that they are a lot easier to lose than I lost the first one. Later, when I moved my phone, I discovered that one of the moving rubber bumpers flew through the car, but I could easily tell where it had landed. Since then I've taped all the fallen off bumpers and kept spares in the glove box in case I get a little crazy with them.
