The original kit that came with the ram mount lasted a year before it was shared. There was no glue in the kit like in this kit. One of the original sets of 4 broke off at some point without my knowledge so I ordered a new set as 2 of the remaining 3 were split lengthwise. Be careful with glue. I almost glue my fingers together. I recommend that you apply glue to the ram mount and then attach the end caps.

My original mount didn't have top glue (I don't know if mine didn't have one or if the mount kits themselves weren't included) so I lost the clue when I tried had to close and decline the call to keep seeing the cards and the part fell off. Anyway I bought them to replace a part and an adhesive was included which also made the parts more secure. Excellent purchase. I just wish the mount came with glue first.

Great if you need to replace defunct OEM's but they aren't much better. They now include a tiny tube of superglue to stick them on so they don't fall off. Although there is no happiness. at least for me. I have mine in the car and it gets hot in there. I also had two falls again after using the glue. The X-Grip should have textured metal where it slides so the glue has something to hold on to.
