This tripod head is mainly characterized by its small size and light weight. The design appears to be good, although it's certainly not a 'smooth' ballhead implementation. If you shoot a lot with this head it's probably better to use one of the more expensive but infinitely smoother ball heads from SIRUI, Manfrotto or Three Legged Thing etc. If all you need is a small, lightweight ball head for your trip, this will do the trick as long as you don't mind the lack of smoothness. It looks well built and fits well so it certainly has its uses but just make sure you buy what you need. For long term use I would definitely suggest spending the extra money and getting one of the ball heads which are silky smooth and more durable. Unfortunately, they're a lot heavier, so like I said, you need to know what you need for a particular shoot. For casual use or for a trip where you need to keep an eye on your weight, this option is fine.
