So I make quite a few suits and corsets. Because of this, I've used a variety of assembly methods: Dritz eye pliers, numerous specialized eye assembly tools (with a hammer), even industrial hand presses (if I was lucky enough to be in a workshop that has them). Usually when using grommets for thicker materials (or multiple layers) I needed something that would install strong grommets without making too much noise or causing my hands too much pain. I also needed something that can handle hard brass and reversible grommets as the latter are essential for the best suit durability. Hammering setups can be loud, especially in an apartment, and tend to be very brand specific. You only have to buy one brand of cleats to make it work. Hand presses are phenomenal, but also phenomenally expensive. And most eyelet pliers require insane gripping strength, and yet misaligned eyelets are often installed due to poor panel-to-panel contact. I found this a great solution for me. Compound action means I don't have to put a lot of strain on my hand to squeeze it, and alignment is always perfect. It also works very well with my hard brass bushings with washers. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to consistently install cleats without the expense of a press.
