Lid stays open 105 degrees with soft close Toy box lid support works exactly as described. However, the installation was unsuccessful and very confusing. A small double-sided installation sheet (6.5" x 9.5") was included with the hardware. I've been trying to determine which chart is appropriate for my box. I followed the "Lid Stopper Assembly for a Top Opening Door (Toy Box)" instructions and corresponding diagram on page 2 of 2 "Hinge Applied with a Single Hinge (Piano, Cane, etc.)" because they most closely resembled my chest . (Conclusion) The weight and height of the door worked exactly as stated in the table. My hat was 18 inches wide and weighed 10 pounds. 9 oz. The chart placed this combination between 7.8 min and 13.3 max. Perfect I thought. As a retired draftsman I made my own life size drawing of the mounting plate and transferred the measurements to my chest, mounting plate and arm fixation plate attached. The cam lock plate position worked fine, but the mounting plate was in the wrong place. The top only opened up to about 45 degrees. Frustrated, I watched the product video again. The box looked very similar to mine, and it looks like the installer put a mounting plate next to another set of previously used mounting holes. Did the installer have the same problem? Finally, after a long trial and error, I put the mounting plates back as far as possible and connected the lid supports. The lid locks worked as described with a soft close, but the best opening angle I could get was 75 degrees. The product and materials are acceptable but the instructions were very difficult to follow.
