Review on ⚡️ Solar Panel for Arlo Pro 2 and Arlo Pro | 7.5W High-Performance Charging to Ensure Sufficient Power | Not Compatible with Arlo Ultra and Arlo Pro3 (Silver) by Stanley Molden

Works much better than expected. It's really amazing.

Original (written mid June 2021). This is my first solar panel for anything but this thing is amazing. I read many reviews before purchasing and was skeptical and cautious but this thing flashes and keeps my Arlo Pro 100% 24/7. I charged the panel during the day. The camera was at 56%. It was 6pm (2 hours of daylight left) when I connected the bar to my Arlo Pro and charged it to 76% and then stopped as it got dark. The next day I checked it around noon and it was already at 100% (I woke up late). All solar panels should work this well, but I wouldn't want to buy anything less. 7.5W seems like the right solar panel output for a camera like the Arlo Pro (that's the panel) and I would highly recommend it to anyone. The only thing I didn't like was that the plug almost didn't fit in. the little bird house housing that holds my Arlo Pro when increasing the length of the camera (but that's not an issue caused by this product as it was made bulky to make it waterproof, although a more flexible/smaller connector is better might be if she can manage to develop one). A very good product, especially for the money. I was worried it wouldn't work, but as long as the sun is out I can't even tell it apart from plugging the camera into an outlet (seriously). However, my house gets more sun than most, I must note (you'll probably get more hours of direct sun just on the boat or on the roof, but I think it will work with less sun, but definitely not, I know) . I get some shade from the sun through the trees, so it's not exactly sunny, but definitely on the "sunnier" side (facing east). Update (written late June 2021): A little over a week later. , and although the manual says that the flash (in the Arlo app) should go away shortly after the panel is connected to the camera (because the battery in the panel Arlo charges quickly and drains, but the panel then slowly charges the battery in Arlo ), I get a PERMANENT flash every time the sun comes out, and so all week from the moment of installation. I feel like I can watch live 24 hours a day as long as the sun is out (although I don't have time to test this, the battery doesn't seem to drain at all during live view when the sun is out). This thing is a beast and literally seems to convey the same sense of power as if it were hardwired (at least when the sun is out. Lightning sometimes REALLY goes away at night, although it still indicates the hours after dark). which surprised me). Ring and Arlo don't even make anything that powerful (the best they have is a 2.5w panel for $50 and a 5w panel for $100, but THESE are 7 .5W). I just had to write an update because I'm so happy with this thing. Does solar energy always work this well? If yes, then make all outdoor cameras solar powered. It seems silly to have a battery powered camera that is currently NOT solar powered. If you're hesitant and have an original Arlo Pro (I can't speak for anything else), BUY IT. YOU WON'T REGRET AND CAN'T LOSE IF YOU HAVE A HOUSE IN THE SUN AND WANT TO PLUG YOUR ARLO PRO CAM TO POWER OUTSIDE. AND I WAS NOT PAID OR GIVEN ANYTHING TO SAY (I PAID!).

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Good but not great
