Bought not for cleaning the aquarium with reptiles, but for cleaning drains at work. Much stronger than the cheap fishing nets I've bought. Works well for what I bought it for.

I live near the ocean and purchased this item to dig up some shark teeth I see in the water. I can easily pick up the "treasure" before the tide blows it away or out. Good size and hooks are perfect for releasing sand but retaining shark teeth. Good size pen. not huge, but you can hold on to it. Would recommend if you are obsessed with finding shark teeth.

I use Arm & Hammer cat litter and it does the job but over time the number of spoons that slip out doubles! I understand this scoop is for small reptiles but the review said it was used for the same litter. The problem is small holes, yes there are small lumps everywhere, but that needs work. It's like sifting gold. Each scoop needs to be shaken back and forth to strain out the filler.

My first choice for sifting reptile cage sand. No sharp edges, mesh is very strong. The frame is also rigid so it won't flex or flex. I've tested this on clumping litter (Okocat) in a cat bowl, but it doesn't go through the mesh very well. This is for smaller granules. But that's JustMe. I don't have reptiles. I use this on my 3 cat crates to pick up the fine particles that tend to escape. Although of course it's not designed for that it does a pretty good job, the only problem is that it has square corners, rounded edges would work much better, but using this I can keep my sheets pretty clean and an extra week get one or two out of a bucket with a letter. It has paid for itself several times since the purchase.

These scoops are ideal for second scooping fine corn/casava cat litter (Garfield Ultimate Tiny Grain and Sustainably Yours Multi-Cat Plus). This is the most amazing filler I have ever used but it is very good. My old litter scoop handles simple clumps well. But sometimes when the cats in the crates are too aggressive (I have 2 male cats that love to play in the litter) some of the clumps will break down into smaller particles that my regular scoop won't pick up. Seriously, I use 2-3 plastic pens a year. They are easy to obtain but short-lived and tend to let through small particles. These steel grilles are very strong and durable. They filter out the smallest particles and are ideal for my bedding for mealworms and toy soldiers. They are simply hung on an S-shaped hook or nail and nest.
