I bought this as an emergency tow strap for my wife's Toyota Sequoia. If you are not familiar with similar items, please understand that there is a difference between emergency tow strap and recovery strap. The emergency tow strap is used for towing a stuck vehicle on roads etc. The recovery strap is used to pull vehicles out of stuck vehicles off-road. That's a huge difference. The force exerted on the rescue harness can be MUCH greater than normal towing. My lifebuoys, which I use in the dunes or off-road, are rated at 35,000 pounds. and much more expensive. This is a good compact kit for emergency towing and EASY recovery. If you try to pull out a stuck heavy car in this way, it will most likely break. A different tool, a different purpose, a different price.
