Review on Polder 510 Glass Candy Thermometer by Amber Bennett

Tip cracks and breaks easily

I have used this thermometer to make candles at home. The highest temperature I've ever had was 175° when I was using it. As other people have said the tip is flimsy and will break for no apparent reason. I've exceeded the return deadline so unfortunately I can't return it or I would have. You get what you pay for. The photo below shows what happened as the melted candle wax entered the thermometer as a liquid and eventually solidified.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
