First of all, let me be completely honest. I got this meat thermometer to measure the temperature of the water in my aquatic farming system. I'm very impressed. When I opened the probe and pulled it out, I immediately saw the temperature in the room! And it was right. I read the instructions and it said that to calibrate I must place the probe in a glass of ice water by pressing the probe against the ice cube as that would be 32 degrees Fahrenheit. I could then adjust it up or down as needed. It was only two tenths of a degree, so I adjusted and calibrated it perfectly. What else can I say? It was so close to perfect that I didn't need to calibrate it, I just wanted to see how easy it is. It has lights and a bottle opener, although I would never use a bottle opener. I highly recommend this instant read meat thermometer. You can use it for many things including your room temperature!
