Many times I have bought this particular disc and considered buying other cutting discs. First of all, this is a DeWalt wheel, so I thought it would be really high quality, like the rest of the DeWalt tool line. First of all, this disc is a cutting disc and a consumable item, so we know it has been in "borrowed time" since the beginning of its life. It's not the thickest separator wheel either - there are more expensive ones out there. It is very suitable for cutting stainless steel and I have had no problems with it. For galvanized metal, I really had to take the time to let the wheel do its job. After a few hours (3?) I found that my impeller had burned out. I was expecting at least a slightly longer lifespan. After ordering the second and third wheels, a transverse thread was cut on one of the shafts. So there are definitely some other quality control issues. There are probably better 5 inch wheels for this price.
