Review on 🌈 upHere 5V 6-Pack 120mm Silent PWM RGB Fans with Motherboard Sync, Addressable Control & Color Customization - T7SYC7-6 by Jon Booth

Revainrating 5 out of 5

$40 for 6 fans would normally be a steal. It's not like this.

Well, first off, these fans look and work well, all things considered, including the price. However, they are not regulated in any way. It says they are controlled via mobo, but no matter how hard I tried, they are not configurable at all. They are also not recognized by third-party software like Speedfan or MSI Command Center. To me, pwm to advertise and not allow control is fully false advertising. But if you're just looking for a basic fan setting for standard airflow, then it's not too bad. I think they're a bit noisy compared to the fans I've tried, but for the price they're not that bad. Also, one of the 6 fans I got didn't work properly, when I plug in the 3-pin RGB connector and the 4-pin power connector, I get a dull color and the wires get very hot, which makes me wonder, as it is likely that they are just an accidental short circuit obviously happening to the fan in question. * - Update - * Yves discovered that this is an enabled hub that restricts fan control. I removed two fans from the hub and put them in my spare mobo headers and in fact they now work correctly with both PWM and DC control. Of course, it's better to stick with PWM. The hub still works great for RGB, but I've ordered splitters for both RGB and fans and plan on doing away with the hub entirely.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Useless features
