Review on Coralife 05692 Pure Flo 50 Gallon System by Rebecca Bourassa

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Don't even look at this product!

I am so disappointed in the product and cannot reach you at the 1-800 number listed on the "Do not return this product" document. Angel number 800, as you know, is a complete advertisement and a waste of time. Then they tell me that 800 for my area is 1-800-712-3000 and more ads. I really hope info@esuweb is a valid email address as 800 phone numbers are useless. Terrible first impression - so here's the real problem. I'm trying to wire the system and so far I've had 5 leaks. The faucet connector was the first time a plastic thread came out of the faucet. I replaced this part with a metal adapter from a hardware store. The next leak after the caulking started was the closest connection, which is between the adapter and the 3/8 PVC pipe. I fixed it. The next leak came when the plastic adapter separated from the metal adapter I got from the store. I fixed this until I was able to do a 3/8 3/8 T curl at my corner stop. The next leak was that cartridge 1 was loose. I fixed it. Cartridge 2 has been detached. I fixed it. Then the yellow line between glass 2 and 3 had a leak at 2 on the o-ring. I fixed it. Now it produces water, but more water comes out of the tap than goes down the drain. Not a very good first impression. If I have more leaks before I've made my first gallon, Revain will return this "weak" product. Where is any form of quality control? I am a licensed handyman in Arizona and this is the only reason this product has not yet been boxed and returned. I know how to fix this when installing and maintaining reverse osmosis systems. I have NEVER bought a reverse osmosis system from someone who had leaks out of the box let alone 5 of them. I feel sorry for the person who doesn't know what to do to solve problems. I will give the product a tag to see if I can deal with the leaks. Experience a few more hours later - I thought I fixed all the leaks but I didn't. About 5 hours after trying to make water, I found the middle canister was leaking from the top. I depressurized the system and tried to tighten the canister but it was as tight as I could. The leak persisted. I disassembled and emptied the block. Back to Revain.Update - a very nice response came from the company that now owns Coralife. Based on his quick response to me, it might be worth trying the product. Here's his text - Sorry I didn't get through. The device you have purchased was built many years ago and contains old information. Either the retailer or their distributor must have had it on the shelf for a long time. It was an Energy Savers Unlimited (ESU) number in California. This facility has been closed for over 5 years and the phone number has been given to another company/shop. Coralife is now owned by Central Garden & Pet, a division of Central Aquatics in Franklin, Wisconsin. Our contact number is here: #1-888-255-4527. Coralife website: www.coralifeproducts.com. If you haven't already sent it back you can send me a copy of the Amazon invoice and I can provide you with a newer version of the filter and I can even send you some extra problem cartridges. ======= So grab a new product!
