I'll update my rating and downgrade my rating. The company that sold the ones I got sells all kinds of stuff and they don't have a service department like a real pond company (like TetraPond). They no longer had these units in stock so they refunded me which was nice but I still have a filter that won't keep my pond clean without that UV ray. I'll look for a replacement bulb, but that's my take. For the few bucks I saved by buying it instead of TetraPond, it wasn't worth the headache. I've been doing this off and on for a few months now and it takes the joy out of my gardening life. Oh and one more thing. The device I received is NOT the device shown on Revain. Kind of shocking. It's a cheaper model without the frills I expected. There is no backwash option. There is no sensor to indicate when the filter needs to be cleaned. So be careful. It can happen to you too. Less than 1 month later, the UV lamp stopped working. My pond is now overgrown with algae. Apparently my only alternative is to order another one, wait for it to arrive, then return the broken one and wait for my refund. There's also the issue of the time it takes for good bacteria to build up in the device to keep it running. The water is clean. I have to start with that. All this time my pond is getting worse and worse.
