Review on πŸšͺ Door Pin Tool by Crain 362 by David Miller

It does one thing, only one thing, but it does it well

I generally hate smart little tools that are specialized in one task. They usually cause more trouble than they're worth and end up somewhere at the bottom of the toolbox. This was the exception! === Good stuff ===* If you've worked with new doors/hinges, you'll find that the pin isn't as easy to reach as it used to be. As a rule, they are thinner in diameter and do not reach the hinge base. As a result, they are somewhat problematic to get out of the loops. This tool is a great solution.* Of course, you can use a pin with as many objects as you want. I used to use an old screwdriver with the head cut off. The shaft goes into the loop and allows you to knock it out. The problem is that it's very easy to damage a door or panel with a slightly misguided hammer blow. The shape of this tool allows you to make contact with the pin but drive it within 4 inches of the door/skin. Even one less repair to make this tool worth its price.* There is a nice little fork at the top of the tool which is great for sliding under the head of the pen once it has been slightly off the hinge.* The device shines very well made and should last quite a long time. It's tough enough to survive even the ugliest toolbox. === Not very good stuff ===* It's an expensive tool that really only does one thing. However, if you must do it and want to do it easily and without damaging it, this works great. === Summary === If you need to remove doors on a regular basis, this is a fantastic tool. I only use it to take the doors off my house to paint and I think the investment was worth it.
