Jams after a few months

I usually like swingline electric hole punches; This is the third one I've bought for my small business. But after a few months, the left punch stopped pulling paper after the punch. The paper simply stays in the machine and does not end up in the waste bin. I have tried unsuccessfully to find guides to learn how to fix the stuck issue. spend $129.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some difficulties

The hole punch is a workhorse!

I've been using this 2 hole punch for a few months now. I would say that on average I edit about a ream of paper a day. If you keep the tray empty and don't try to do too much at once, this machine works great. I regularly punch over 15 sheets at a time and it hasn't stuck with me yet. It definitely sounds like it's harder to work with a thick stack of paper, but it always gets the job done. It's such an improvement over the manual puncher I used.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • I have no bad feelings about it, it's just good

Works well for 180+ page reports

The first test was good. Twenty copies of the report should be filed in folders. It was over 180 pages. We stuck to punching 20 pages at a time. With the guide on the side, the pages line up nicely. We also took care to remove the perforated 'chads' that were visible from her translucent closed 'basket'. Easy to use, very intuitive. Good two year warranty and price for the number of pages that can be punched at once. Nice results.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • Bad instructions

Works right out of the box

I love that the whole setup is pluggable. Works great for me, but I've noticed that even with 5 sides, some of the holes aren't fully punched. I can't imagine the listed 28 blades running smoothly at the same time. My paper is heavier - 60 - so it might be able to do 15 sheets with 20 weights. This is not a problem for me as I am simply reducing the number of sheets I punch at a time and will never make that many sheets. But if you really expect or need to punch 28 sheets at a time, you can buy

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Available in white only

Ideal for small jobs that require consistent hole placement

This ensures pages are punched in the same place over and over again. I never counted the number of pages I loaded into the device, but I never got to the advertised capacity. I would rather punch 16-20 sheets that register easily in the machine than try to register 28 sheets before the machine is at full capacity. He recently used it to punch holes in over 120 sheets of quality paper placed in a presentation folder, and the end result was a professional look with consistently aligned holes.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • New competitors are here

Paper handling is not good at all.

Didn't work for us. We are a CPA tax preparer and keep 2 perforated copies in our office files. The paper guide to the upper stamp of our copies is almost non-existent. We actually had to cut out a piece of cardboard and glue it to the rail to make it work. Again, this wasn't ideal, as the pages moved slightly, so not all pages lined up exactly. We were too busy to send it back and order another model so we survived tax season with this Swingline 2 punch. I just ordered a Sparco 96003. It is…

Pros
  • One year probationary period
Cons
  • Not satisfied with everything

This is a FAKE Swingline punch and Revain did not send me a return label

This is a FAKE Swingline punch. It's very similar to Swingline, but not quite. It is much slower and my previous fake hammer drill stopped working after 6 months. Another win-win is that it comes in a black and white box instead of a black and green box. MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY: Revain did not send me a return label but an unreadable QRC code. I have tried many times to get them to send me a shipping label but they never did. Now they don't respond to the problem at all. Does Revain benefit from…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Has defects

This punch is excellent. I used a cheaper Swingline punch (to make 22,000 baby cards) but decided when I was going to buy one to get something really strong and fast. THIS swingline is awesome. First I bought a Vayette hole punch which costs the same as this Swingline. TWO Vayettes jammed and broke and I had to send them back to Revain. They're loud and hold more paper than they can punch without jamming. THEN I got this swingline. That's great. It's very hard. You can't pinch him because he…

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • Crumpled

Image on Revain website does not match the product you received (3/8/2019)

Item description says Platinum and I got it based on the photos shown ordered, as well as a text description. I assumed the word "Platinum" was part of the model name. When I opened the box, this is what was shown in this review (and the backing paper is not yet attached). After talking to customer service for half an hour (no complaints, service was good), we decided that the product was the advertised model 74535, but "Platinum" meant this version. And maybe it punches 9/32" holes instead of…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
