Review on Chaco Variation Classic Women 11 by Bianca Mares

Not satisfied switched to Tevas

I ordered these after reading all the hype and was seriously disappointed. I have narrow flat feet and needed a supportive sandal that would give me arch support and also feel more stable than flip flops. This year I broke a bone in my foot and was in pain after wearing regular flip flops or heavy shoes. At first I was shocked at how heavy these shoes are. Just ridiculous for a sandal. They feel as heavy as a boot! Second, the straps have to be tight to keep the shoes on the sole of your foot, otherwise you'll end up with large, awkward shoes that flap around as you walk. The problem is that the straps were tight enough to hold the shoes on the foot, they chafed at sores on the big toe and elsewhere, and the toe loop kept tightening until it lost circulation. Third, the side of the heel. The area has vertical rubber walls that the straps attach to and this immediately started chafing the sore spot on the inside of my heel near the arch of my foot. As I have a narrow foot I can't imagine how someone with a medium/wide foot would wear them. I am already in the process of returning and have ordered a pair of Tevas as replacements. The Tevas and everything that Chacos aren't have arrived. Such a lighter, much softer ride, more secure straps with no weird tightening, perfect arch support with no upward curves on the sides of the heel. in my situation.
