Review on LiftMaster 890max Mini Key Chain Garage Door Opener Remote: Compact and Stylish, Black with Gray Buttons by Joe Lantz

I am writing this review for those who own a Liftmaster 8500 wall mounted garage door opener. The instructions for this remote are frustrating because it tries to cover too many models. If you have a typical overhead motor, you might not have this problem. In my case, the motor is mounted on the wall next to the garage door. There is a control panel on the wall with a STUDY button, and on the motor itself there is an unmarked yellow button. Here's the sequence that worked for me after hours of trying: 1. Insert a paperclip into the remote to enter programming mode.2. Press and release the yellow button on the motor.3. Press and release the LEARN button on the wall control panel. In this step, press this LEARN button twice. If you press it again, the red LED of the LEARN.4 button lights up. Briefly press the button on the remote control that you want to program. The red LED on the LEARN button goes out.5. Press and release any other button on the front of the remote control to exit programming mode.6. Press the button on the remote that you programmed and the door should open. I almost feel like the liftmaster should pay me to find out! I literally spent hours following the printed instructions to the letter multiple times. I've watched every YouTube video known to man on the subject. called the Revain hotline twice. (that was over the weekend - otherwise I would have called Liftmaster directly). One day, through trial and error, I came across the above sequence - IT WORKS.
