I recently acquired a French Bulldog puppy. Since he was 4 months old, we have been utilizing it for the past nearly 2 months. The dog used to have another harness, but it caused him to scratch himself constantly, and it found out that the scratching was caused by the harness rubbing quite harshly in the sternum region. It is inevitable that it will become dirty, but I was able to clean off the mud, sand, and grass stains by washing it in a washer.
