**Full Disclosure** The company offers a 5 star review bonus, but that hasn't affected my honest review of the kayak holder. The kayak holder is very durable. It's heavy, but that's to be expected since it's made of steel. A small aluminum frame costs a lot more money. The assembly can be a bit tricky as there are no really detailed step-by-step instructions, just more or less pictures. It also requires sorting by the exact type of strut and J-props you have. I think people who had problems with the frame must have followed the assembly instructions incorrectly. I've had this carrier on my truck for over a month and haven't seen any signs of rust. I've carried two kayaks 100+ miles on multiple trips and haven't had a problem or need to secure anything in the middle of a trip. I installed this rack on a 2014 Silverado with a 6.5 foot box and it worked great. The included C-clamps provided a good, firm hold. The trunk rises above my cab and barely gets under the garage door without J-props. It would be nice if the post was a little shorter to make loading easier. The supplied rope ties and tension belts are of very good quality and a good addition.
