Attention buyers - vacuums and floor care

I don't usually write reviews as I'm rarely strong enough about a product to admire or complain about it. The best thing I can say about this vacuum is that it does a really good job of deep cleaning carpets. My old shark must have died long before I killed him trying to use him as a birdseed vacuum in the garage. This new one cleans like a champ, but that's where my compliments end. It's heavy and awkward to maneuver. My old Shark was easy to use - this one takes EFFORT. While moving on carpet, it doesn't turn as easily as the old one, and on a hard floor without moving, it's quite difficult. Then there are irritants. The little notch that was supposed to keep the cable off the ground is useless. If the cord even slightly touches my knee or touches a piece of furniture, the cord will slip out of the bracket and will need to be reinstalled. This morning I had to hook up 10-12 times during an hour of vacuuming, which is awkward. Equally useless is the clamp that is supposed to hold the hose so it doesn't dangle. It doesn't get stuck and needs to be reattached regularly. The dust cap also seems to be a lot smaller than the old one. Maybe it fills up more often because the vacuum sucks up more dirt, or because it looks smaller because it's square instead of round. Anyway, I used to empty it twice - now I have to do 3 - even with one less pet in the house. I won't get it back - learning to live with it - but it's a disappointment after Shark I Loved.

Pros

Cons
