I almost never buy without a lot of feedback and research. I liked the style of this kettle and was happy it would work with my new induction hob. The kettle looked small (although I got 40 ounces - I measured!). I carefully measured out 3 cups of water and placed it on the induction cooktop. It heats up quickly as I watch the temperature rise to boiling. As he neared the boiling point on the manometer, water spurted from the sink all over the stove. We're not talking about steam, we're talking about sparkling water! I couldn't believe it. I tried again and the same thing happened. It came with a thin rubber cap on the end of the spout but I can't imagine the cap would hold back water. Too dangerous and dirty. I don't quite understand how this design is supposed to work. Was it due to the rapid heating of the induction cooker? The pace is the pace. I should have bought the Coffee Gator given the many rave reviews, but I wanted the red one. (What does the red-colored Coffee Gator not offer?) My understanding is that the Coffee Gator spout goes into the kettle at the top (near the third stripe). Lesson learned. Mine came back today.
