I rarely write reviews but since I don't understand how to use from the inexperienced I thought it would help. Inside these heat shields is a slightly smaller end with a carbide ring. The sewn end is the wider end. Pull the larger end up over (from) the spark plug end so that the smaller end of the metal ring sits on the spark plug end of the spark plug wire. Again, he's smaller, so he won't be dragged. Not intended for. Others mistakenly expect that this is exactly what is needed. Connects the end of the cable to the base. They are versatile and not "too small" etc like others have complained. As a side note I also used a metal grommet on the end of the spark plug wire with the spark plug and slipped these heat shields over it for added protection and they worked great in this case too. The compression spring on those metal bushings at the end of the spark plug still engaged properly when using those heat shields on them. I hope that makes sense. Move shields higher, higher towards the ends of the spark plug wire coils. In any case, they are of excellent quality and very well finished. Highly recommended. Excellent price.
