Review on πŸ”Œ Wireless-G Ultra Slim USB 2.0 Adapter - Airlink AWLL3028, 802.11g by Garon Tafolla

They are so cheap and convenient that I have bought many of them!

Really handy device. For about $15 I can quickly connect any computer made in the last 6 or 7 years to a wireless router. As I write, I'm fixing my friend's daughter's laptop. She had over 200 trojans and three viruses, and her computer practically stopped. I had to erase the disk and boot into a new operating system. Since she lost her installation CDs and the built-in computer was damaged, I don't have drivers for the built-in wireless or ethernet adapter, so I couldn't even go online to update Windows and download the drivers. This product offered the solution. I simply downloaded the driver/software from the installation disk, plugged the Airlink into a USB port and started surfing the web, finding drivers and updating my XP installation. Installing the software is easy. And no need to unscrew the computer case to unscrew it, and no need to look for a free PCI slot in a world with no slots etc. I've had similar problems with other computers I've restored that didn't have a wireless card, and this unit is comfortable. I was able to connect within 40 feet of my wireless router with no problem. And it costs about half as much as any other wireless USB adapter I've found. I can just distribute them.

Pros
  • Compatible with all 802.11g and 802.11b devices
