Update: 5 locks sent to us. Three failed. One was so poorly made that none of the screw holes lined up. One is still working. It is clear that the quality of their workmanship is terrible. I suspect such loose tolerances are also why it doesn't stand up to simple moisture. The idea is good, but the locks are terribly bad. We bought two of these locks. In the beginning we really liked her. The concept is good. The quality and performance is poor. We installed them. Installation was pretty easy. (I deduct one star from the installation rating because we had to install/replace it several times.) There are videos on the Internet that guide you through the installation. The application is quite simple, but very basic. The application is suitable for more experienced users. For people who expect more user-friendly interface and modern look, this is a utility door lock app. He does what he has to do. At first the castles seemed great. A few months later we even bought a third one. However, 5 months after the purchase, the first lock failed. Customer service was helpful and quickly sent us a new lock. A month later, the second lock failed. The fingerprint reader stopped working on both. On the second lock, the touchpad/bezel also started to peel off. They are outside but in a sheltered location from most weather conditions. (This is Florida so we have hurricanes and tropical storms but none in the 6 months in question. Just regular Florida weather.) Not sure if Florida's humidity is too high for them or if Florida's normal heat is toasting them. , or they're just not meant for everyday use, or the processing is low, or a combination of these or other things. What I can say is that the locks just don't hold. Again good idea with bad execution. Disappointed. Perhaps a newer, more weatherproof version will be released. In the meantime, we must keep replacing them until a suitable replacement is available or until Sifely stops sending us replacements.
