Very nice teapot, I tell you! It's very modern and I like it. Boils faster and hotter than any other kettle I've had! Makes great tea. However, I removed a star because there is a small gap where your skin can get stuck on the part of the handle where the outer plastic handle appears to be glued. I'm not sure if I just got a defective one. Love the keep warm function although I wish you could set it to keep warm without it already being boiled - the main reason I wanted this function is because I usually boil the kettle and forget after about 5 -10 minutes to return to him. . That's because the kettle doesn't have a loud beep to remind you it's been boiled like this one. I like it and dislike it - I appreciate and love this feature, but the special beep sound for this kettle isn't my favorite. I like the fact that the lid slowly opens on its own so you don't have to fiddle with touching the lid. I also love the fact that you can roll the cord under the base to maintain the perfect cord length you want! Using it for the first time is also very easy. Just boil it once and pour out the water, that's all you have to do to purify it. Regarding the issue, another commenter, after reading how much water there is in the kettle as stated in another comment - it maxes out at 1.7L. and I believe the gauge is intentionally higher on the kettle so you don't boil below the recommended minimum. As a security feature, I think it's actually quite good. In any case, the water boils so quickly that pouring a little more than you might have tried isn't a problem. In addition, the kettle should not boil less than recommended! For me, the pros of this kettle outweigh the cons. I would buy this kettle again and I believe it is worth the current price of $59.99. It also makes a good gift if you have someone who needs a modern, stylish new product for their kitchen!
