Here is my situation. We have several private and company vehicles. Most are on the senior side. The oldest so far is from 2004. It seems that at least one car has a warning light on every other day. We usually carry out maintenance and repairs ourselves, so it is important to us to diagnose warning lights and problems as precisely and early as possible. A friend who is a professional mechanic recommended this branded scanner. He said it's a new model and that it looks promising. So I bought it on his recommendation. Oh, by the way, that's the guy I take my stuff to if I can't fix it. So I really trust him and trust him. When the scanner arrived I took it to his shop and he taught me how to use it. Let me just say that this thing's capabilities exceed my repair skills as a mechanic. Although it's good. This means that I learn new things and expand my skills with every application. This extremely well constructed machine can perform 31 services. These include Oil Reset, EPB, SAS, DPF, BMS Reset, ABS Bleed, Throttle Reset, VGT Learning, Air Suspension, Injector Coding, Key Programming, Power Balance, Headlights, Transmission Adaptation, Fuel Trim Learning, Language Change, A/F Settings, stop/start reset, crankshaft sensor relearn, TPMS, airbag repair and more. In fact, this device can replace other sets of multiple devices. It is much more efficient and economical. Before using this tool, I updated the software. It took a while, but it was easy. This thing comes with a 2 year warranty and includes 3 years of free software updates. My friend said the customer service for this outfit was second to none. Now there is a detail that you need to pay attention to. Not every function works on every vehicle. I don't think this is a limitation of this scanner. Rather, I think the manufacturers didn't incorporate this particular capability into their system when they designed and engineered the car. It seems that most older cars are losing these qualities. I thought that was to be expected. In any case, there are enormous opportunities here. My professional mechanic friend was duly impressed, as was I. I've used it several times and despite some learning curve, my diagnostic and mechanical skills grow every time I use it. Highly recommended!
