Bought 2 of these floor mats which really need a non slip backing. The floors in our apartment aren't quite level (old house, what to do?). Somehow, our hallway rug slowly slipped onto the room floor, but this rug put a stop to that. It's been over a week and never had to be adjusted. The floor in our hallway is even worse. This rug would need a touch up several times a day (read: every time someone walked down the hall) but this rug helps a lot. It's still moving, but very slowly over time. There is a crowded space in our apartment, so I may have to adjust once a day. But to be honest, I don't think any padding - no matter how expensive - is going to stop the rug from moving at this point. This pad is good enough at this price point. If the floors are level, they will master their task. Rubber doesn't smell, plus it's quite heavy. Good for soundproofing. Great for the price, highly recommend.
