I bought this to replace the one I was using, only it had a spring loaded side clip and this one has a ratchet (click-click-click) as it goes from wide to a snug and comfortable phone hold. Pros: - perfect arm length (most I've seen are too short). This one brings it right over my dash, making it easy for me to reach if I need to lift or dip my finger up or down a traffic obstruction in Waze. VERY strong suction on the windshield (I almost didn't have to clamp because it didn't move if I just pushed on it) - Holds very securely Cons of your phone: The only downside for me was that I'm used to a spring-loaded side clip that makes getting in and out of the phone quick and easy, this ratchet clip system makes it a little more difficult as I think it's designed so you press a button on the back to release it, which I do think I could do, but it's more work and slower, especially because the side clips seem resistant to rubbing/transmission (that's the high quality feel I mentioned above). My solution is to make it less tight with a click, which allows me to grab the phone and holster with one hand and slide the phone to the side, pull the free side forward and it just pops out. This works and doesn't cause the phone to fall over as there is a bottom part that holds it in place. Alternatively, you can just slide it straight up. So you actually have 3 options. Other than that this thing is excellent and I didn't need that extra support piece as I set the suction cup very low and my hand sits right on the dash. I wanted it to be as low as possible so that neither the phone nor the suction cup nor my hand would block my view of the road.
