Review on 🔥 Broan-NuTone 423004 Stainless Steel 30-Inch Under Cabinet Range Hood by Seth Damain

Poor design, especially as a replacement for a vintage 1980's NuTone hood. I used high temp chimney tape prior to installation, (cheap) light is not grease free and not aimed at hob (glows everywhere), fan orientation is not straight "up" but at an angle so noise reflects towards becomes the front of the oven, "Comb/Drip?" on the back of the unit prevents a flush finish with a wall. Bad replacement (for the same brand from 1980, see comparison photo, side view) in this one; Mount location is deeper (requires padding), narrower (not true 30", requires side spacers), exhaust further forward (requires attic cutout to move chimney), PSU hole not in same location, "more fragile" newer Grease filter is 3 layers thick (1980 model is 7 layers thick), switches are 8 inches farther from the front of the stove (at the manifold, not the ceiling unit), exhaust is smaller than its predecessor (captures fewer stove emissions).
