Review on 🏷️ Brother P-touch PT1230PC Label Maker - PC-Connectable, No Software Required, Multiple Label Width Options, Compact Design, White Color by James Townsend

I saw a Siemens controls engineer with one of them in a place where he was LOTS busy and I needed him. He had a cool toy, I wanted a cool toy like that. It's very easy to use and makes good labels. What makes this a little different is that when you plug the USB stick into the computer and turn it on, the drive mounts. This disc contains the P-touch software that creates your labels. My big gripe with printers and scanners these days is that sometimes you have to find software, install it, and then when you connect the device to another computer, you have to start the software all over again. You don't do this, it's on the computer you're connected to and where the drive is installed. Conversely, I sometimes wish the software was already on my computer and I just want to open the app and work. As far as I know, you can't do that with it. I've only used the labels that came with it, but it seems to require a variety of labels that Brother makes, so I like to try different labels over time. One complaint is that I haven't figured out how to use this with Linux yet. I don't know wine well enough to get the app working yet and I hope this gets fixed in the future.
